English Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: 2 November 2026
About the Role
A further education provider in Yorkshire and the Humber is looking for an English Lecturer to deliver teaching to post-16 learners.
You'll plan and deliver engaging English sessions, adapting your approach to a range of abilities, and help learners build the confidence they need to achieve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons to post-16 learners.
- Preparing schemes of work, resources and assessments.
- Monitoring learner progress, marking work and giving timely feedback.
- Supporting learners with engagement, attendance and exam preparation.
- Working alongside curriculum colleagues and support staff to ensure inclusive practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of teaching English, ideally within further education
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a genuine willingness to work towards one
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills
- A commitment to supporting learners from a range of backgrounds
Desirable (but not essential):
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Experience supporting resit learners
