Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Start date: October 2026
About the Role
A further education provider in the region is looking for an English Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver high-quality English teaching to post-16 learners, helping them build the skills and confidence they need to achieve their qualifications.
You'll plan and prepare your own sessions, track learner progress and give the feedback and encouragement that keeps students moving forward into further study or employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons to learners of mixed abilities.
- Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback on their progress.
- Creating an inclusive learning environment where every learner is supported and challenged.
- Maintaining accurate records of attendance, achievement and progress.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant qualification or subject background in English
- Experience of teaching or supporting learners in English
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, CertEd, DET or QTLS
- Previous experience of teaching within further education
