English Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
About the Role
A further education provider is looking for an English Lecturer to join their teaching team, with an anticipated start date of September 2026.
You'll plan and deliver engaging English sessions to post-16 learners of mixed abilities, assessing their work and supporting them to gain the qualifications they need to progress into further study or employment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and assessing English across a range of learner groups.
- Planning and preparing lessons, schemes of work and assessment materials.
- Monitoring and tracking learner progress and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners to build confidence, engagement and exam readiness.
- Contributing to curriculum development and working closely with colleagues across the team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree in English or a closely related subject
- Experience of teaching or assessing English learners
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills
- A commitment to supporting learners from a range of backgrounds
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Experience of teaching within further education
- Experience of supporting resit learners
