Job Description
Engineering Maintenance Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 25 August 2026
Are you an experienced engineering maintenance professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the role
You'll design, plan, deliver and assess engaging engineering maintenance programmes for a further education provider, combining practical workshop training with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed.
Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the workshop, helping learners build the knowledge, skills and confidence that employers value. You'll create a safe and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners.
If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Our client offers support to help you move into education and develop as a lecturer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, planning, delivering and assessing engineering maintenance programmes across a range of levels.
- Delivering a mix of practical workshop sessions and underpinning theory.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback.
- Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of individual learners.

Essential:
- A recognised qualification in engineering maintenance or a related discipline
- Relevant industry experience in engineering maintenance
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring
If you're ready to bring your engineering experience into the workshop and inspire the next generation, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
