Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: 2 November 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Installation Lecturer to join a further education provider in the West Midlands. You'll deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom theory across electrical installation programmes, drawing on your own industry experience to prepare learners for careers in the trade.
You'll plan and prepare your sessions, assess learners' work and support them through their studies, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence they'll need to progress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering practical workshop and classroom-based teaching across electrical installation programmes.
- Planning and developing lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
- Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and supporting achievement.
- Maintaining a safe, organised workshop environment in line with industry standards.
- Providing academic and pastoral guidance to learners.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
- Industry experience in the electrical trade
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education
- An assessor qualification
