Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary | Full Time
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: October 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for an Electrical Installation Lecturer to join their team. You'll deliver both practical workshop sessions and classroom theory, helping learners build genuine occupational competence alongside the technical knowledge to back it up.
You'll bring your industry experience into the teaching environment, supporting students through their programmes and preparing them for progression into employment or further study.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical and theory sessions across Electrical Installation programmes.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning activities, including marking, feedback and progress reviews.
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, achievement and awarding body requirements.
- Contribute to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry standards.
- Support learners in developing their technical skills and employability.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation, or equivalent
- Industry experience in the electrical trade
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Assessor or IQA award
- 18th Edition BS 7671
