Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to pass on your trade to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the West Midlands, delivering electrical installation teaching across both practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory. You'll support learners to build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need for successful careers in the electrical industry, and you'll bring your own industry insight directly into the classroom.
Applications are welcome from qualified lecturers and from industry professionals looking to move into further education.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons across electrical installation programmes.
- Preparing learning materials, schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Assessing learner progress and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate records in line with awarding body and organisational requirements.
- Ensuring safe working practices within workshops and learning environments.
- Contributing to curriculum development and the wider work of the team.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
- Industry experience in the electrical sector
- Confidence delivering both practical and theory sessions
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Previous experience of teaching in further education
