Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start date: September 2026
Are you a time-served electrician looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
As an Electrical Installation Lecturer with a further education provider in the West Midlands, you'll deliver practical and theoretical teaching to learners working towards their electrical qualifications. You'll draw on your industry experience to bring real-world knowledge into the workshop and the classroom.
If you're new to teaching, that's not a barrier. Many successful lecturers come straight from industry, and you'll be supported to develop your teaching skills alongside your role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering practical and theoretical electrical installation sessions to learners at a range of levels.
- Planning and preparing lessons, learning materials and assessments.
- Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Monitoring learner attendance, progress and achievement.
- Supporting learners to develop the technical skills and professional standards employers expect.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
- Industry experience in the electrical trade
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
