Job Description
Electrical Installation Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 21 September 2026
Are you an experienced electrician looking to step off the tools and pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the role
As an Electrical Installation Lecturer, you'll plan and deliver engaging practical and theory sessions that build the technical skills, safe working habits and professional confidence your learners need to succeed. You'll bring your industry knowledge into the workshop and the classroom, giving students hands-on experience alongside the theory that underpins it.
Working with a further education provider, you'll teach across the electrical installation programme, adapting your approach to a range of abilities and helping every learner progress. You'll monitor progress closely and give the feedback and encouragement that keeps students on track.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering electrical installation lessons that are engaging and well structured.
- Developing learners' practical skills through supervised workshop training.
- Teaching safe working practices and health and safety compliance in the workshop.
- Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support learner progress.
- Preparing learners for employment, apprenticeships and further study.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
- Industry experience in the electrical trade
- The ability to teach both practical and theory sessions to a range of abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- An assessor qualification
- Previous experience teaching in further education
If you're ready to bring your trade into the classroom and shape the electricians of the future, we'd love to hear from you.
