Are you an experienced electrician ready to support the next generation through their apprenticeship?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in the North West as an Electrical Installation Assessor, working with apprentices and their employers to assess competence and track progress towards achievement.

You'll carry out assessments in the workshop and in the workplace, review evidence against the relevant standards, and make sure learners are well prepared for every stage of their programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering workplace and workshop-based assessments against electrotechnical standards.
• Conducting regular progress reviews and employer site visits.
• Gathering, verifying and marking portfolio evidence in line with awarding body requirements.
• Guiding apprentices through End Point Assessment preparation and giving clear, diagnostic feedback.
• Supporting learners with wiring regulations, health and safety standards and practical testing procedures.
• Maintaining accurate records and tracking systems for attendance, retention and timely achievement.
• Working with teaching colleagues, internal quality assurers and employer supervisors to address performance gaps.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in electrical installation
• Substantial, relevant industry experience in the electrical trade
• An assessing qualification, or a willingness to work towards one

Desirable (but not essential):

• An IQA qualification
• Experience of teaching or assessing in further education
• Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and EPA requirements
• Confidence using IT systems and digital tools
