Job Description
Electrical Engineering Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Start date: 1 October 2026
Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to inspire the next generation of technicians and engineers?
About the role
You'll design, plan, deliver and assess engaging electrical engineering programmes for a further education provider, combining practical workshop teaching with the underpinning theory learners need to succeed. Working across a range of levels, you'll bring your industry experience into the classroom and workshop, helping learners build the knowledge and skills that employers value.
You'll create a positive and supportive learning environment, monitor learner progress and adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Working closely with colleagues, you'll help keep the curriculum current and relevant to the sector.
If you come from industry rather than teaching, that's welcome. Our client offers support to help you move into education and develop as a lecturer.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, planning, delivering and assessing electrical engineering programmes across a range of levels.
- Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
- Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Monitoring learner progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs.
- Working with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Relevant industry experience within the electrical engineering sector
- A Level 3 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent
- A genuine interest in developing others and sharing your technical knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching, assessing or training learners
- Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications
If you're ready to use your industry experience to shape the engineers of tomorrow, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support provided to transition from industry to education
- Professional development as a lecturer
