Electrical Engineering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to pass your technical knowledge on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver theory and practical teaching across electrical engineering provision, helping learners build the technical knowledge, understanding and confidence they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
You'll work with learners at varied stages of their training, adapting your delivery so each one can make progress, and you'll assess their knowledge and practical competence against awarding body standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging electrical engineering theory and practical workshop sessions.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment materials.
- Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring attendance, progress and achievement, and putting support in place where learners are at risk.
- Maintaining a safe, structured and professional learning and workshop environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent
- Relevant industry experience within the electrical engineering sector
- Ability to adapt your delivery to learners of varied ability
- A genuine interest in developing others and sharing your technical knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching, training or assessing learners
- Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications
