Electrical Engineering Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced electrical engineering professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?
About the Role
A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for an Electrical Engineering Lecturer to join its engineering teaching team. You'll deliver classroom theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the technical knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
You'll be supported by an established department, and you'll have the scope to bring your own industry experience directly into your teaching.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching electrical engineering programmes from entry level to Level 3.
- Delivering practical workshop sessions alongside classroom theory.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Assessing learner progress and providing timely feedback and support.
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in electrical or electronic engineering
- Relevant industry experience within the electrical engineering sector
- A genuine interest in developing others and sharing your technical knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching, assessing or training learners
- Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications
