Job Description

Electrical & Electronic Engineering Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the East Midlands

Start date: November 2026

Are you an experienced electrical or electronic engineering professional looking to pass your skills on to the next generation?

About the Role

A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for an Electrical & Electronic Engineering Lecturer to join its engineering teaching team. You'll deliver classroom theory and practical workshop sessions, helping learners build the technical knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.

You'll be supported by an established department, and you'll have the scope to bring your own industry experience directly into your teaching.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching electrical and electronic engineering programmes from entry level to Level 3.
  • Delivering practical workshop sessions alongside classroom theory.
  • Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing timely feedback and support.
  • Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 3 qualification or higher in electrical or electronic engineering
  • Relevant industry experience within the engineering sector
  • A genuine interest in developing others and sharing your technical knowledge

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience of teaching or training learners
  • Knowledge of vocational engineering qualifications

If you're new to teaching, that needn't hold you back — applications from experienced industry professionals are welcomed, with mentoring and ongoing development available to help you make the move into further education.

If you're ready to use your engineering experience to shape the next generation of technicians, we'd love to hear from you.

What's on Offer

  • Mentoring and ongoing development available
  • Support from established department
