English Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Are you an English specialist who would enjoy supporting the next generation of learners to achieve their qualifications?
About the Role
A further education provider in the East Midlands is looking for an English Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver engaging lessons across English programmes, helping learners build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress into further study or employment.
You'll be part of a supportive department, with the scope to bring your own subject expertise into the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality teaching across English programmes.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment materials.
- Monitoring learner progress and providing timely feedback and support.
- Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Contributing to curriculum development.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in English or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage learners of mixed abilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
- Previous experience of teaching in further education
