Are you someone who enjoys helping learners overcome barriers and get the most from their education?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider to support learners with additional needs, working alongside teaching staff to make sure every student can access and engage with their learning.

You'll work both one to one and with small groups, building the kind of trusted relationships that help learners grow in confidence and independence.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to learners with additional learning needs.
• Supporting teaching staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Helping learners access the curriculum and develop independent learning skills.
• Encouraging engagement, positive behaviour and participation in college life.
• Safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of vulnerable learners at all times.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Experience supporting young people or adults in an education, care or community setting
• Strong communication, empathy and interpersonal skills
• A genuine commitment to inclusive learning and learner progress
• A clear, enhanced DBS

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience working with learners with SEND or additional learning needs
• Knowledge of EHCPs and learning support strategies
• A relevant qualification in education or support work, or willingness to work towards one
