Early Years Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: January 2027
Are you an experienced early years professional ready to inspire the next generation of practitioners?
About the Role
A further education provider is looking for an Early Years Lecturer to teach and support post-16 learners working towards early years qualifications. You'll bring your sector knowledge into the classroom and help learners build the skills and confidence they need to progress into further study or employment in early years settings.
You'll work alongside curriculum colleagues and support staff to deliver an inclusive, well-planned programme for learners of mixed abilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging early years sessions to post-16 learners.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessments.
- Tracking learner progress, marking work and providing timely feedback.
- Supporting learners with their attendance, engagement and progression.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure inclusive practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Occupational knowledge and experience in early years education and care
- Experience of teaching, training or assessing
- Strong classroom management and learner engagement skills
- Commitment to supporting learners of mixed abilities
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, QTS, QTLS or equivalent)
- Experience of delivering within a further education setting
