Early Years Lecturer

Temporary

Location: the West Midlands

Start date: 13 October 2026

Are you an experienced early years professional looking to pass your knowledge on to the next generation of practitioners?

About the Role

As an Early Years Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, well-structured teaching across early years programmes, helping learners build the knowledge, practical skills and confidence they need to progress into further study or employment.

You'll join a supportive team at a further education provider in the West Midlands, where you'll plan lessons, assess learners' work and create an inclusive environment in which students feel motivated to achieve.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering early years lessons across a range of levels.
  • Assessing, marking and giving constructive feedback on learners' work.
  • Monitoring learner progress and providing support where it's needed.
  • Maintaining accurate records of attendance and achievement.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the curriculum.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date practical experience
  • The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education

If you're ready to share your experience and help learners take their first steps into the early years profession, we'd love to hear from you.
