Early Years Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North East
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced early years practitioner ready to inspire the next generation of professionals?
About the Role
A further education provider in the North East is looking for an Early Years Lecturer to join its vocational teaching team. You'll deliver engaging, high-quality sessions that help learners build the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to progress into early years careers.
You'll be part of a friendly, supportive department, working with learners across a range of levels and supporting them through their full study programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging teaching sessions across Early Years qualifications.
- Assessing learners' work against national standards and awarding body requirements.
- Monitoring learner progress, giving constructive feedback and tracking achievement.
- Supporting learners to prepare for employment or further study in the sector.
- Maintaining high standards of quality assurance across your programme.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in Early Years or a related field
- Recent, relevant occupational experience in early years education and care
- Up-to-date knowledge of developments in the Early Years curriculum
Desirable (but not essential):
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, DET, Cert Ed)
- Experience of teaching or assessing within a further education or training provider setting
