Curriculum Manager - Vocational Science
Temporary | Contract
Location: London
Start date: 2 September 2026
Are you an experienced science education professional ready to take on a curriculum leadership role within further education?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to lead and manage the vocational science curriculum area, overseeing delivery and maintaining high standards across the provision. You'll support and develop lecturers and technicians, monitor the quality of teaching, learning and assessment, and drive improvements in learner retention, achievement and experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the vocational science curriculum area.
- Providing effective leadership and support to teaching and technical staff.
- Overseeing high-quality teaching, learning and assessment.
- Driving improvements in retention, success and achievement.
- Developing, reviewing and improving the curriculum offer.
- Monitoring quality and ensuring key performance targets are achieved.
- Working closely with senior leadership and curriculum teams.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge across vocational science programmes
- Experience of curriculum leadership within a further education setting
- Experience of managing, supporting and developing teaching staff
- Strong understanding of curriculum quality and improvement
- Good knowledge of learner progress, achievement and performance
- An appropriate academic qualification and a full teaching qualification, such as a PGCE
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in roles such as Curriculum Leader, Programme Manager or Head of Science
- Experience of liaising with awarding bodies, employers and external stakeholders
