Curriculum Lead English

About the Role
An education provider is looking to appoint a Curriculum Lead English to lead the delivery and development of its English provision, with a start date of September 2026.
You'll combine teaching with curriculum leadership, supporting a team of lecturers to deliver consistent, high-quality lessons and driving improvements in attendance, retention and achievement across the programmes you oversee.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting a team of English lecturers, promoting best practice and consistency.
- Teaching English to learners from a range of programmes and vocational pathways.
- Planning schemes of work, assessments and curriculum development.
- Monitoring learner progress and implementing strategies to improve outcomes.
- Overseeing quality assurance, standardisation and moderation processes.
- Supporting the embedding of English across wider curriculum areas.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in English or a related subject
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Experience of teaching English in a further education or post-16 setting
- Leadership or supervisory experience, whether formal or informal
- Strong communication, organisation and classroom management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of leading a course team or managing staff
- Experience of curriculum development and quality assurance processes
- Ability to teach English up to Level 3
