Are you a skilled construction tradesperson looking to put your practical knowledge to work in a training environment?

About the Role

You'll join a further education provider in the North West, supporting the smooth running of busy construction workshops. Working alongside the teaching team, you'll make sure practical sessions are properly prepared, well resourced and safe for learners.

You'll spend your days in the workshops rather than at a desk — setting up equipment, keeping machinery in good order and being on hand while learners develop their skills. Previous experience in a college or training setting is useful but not required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, setting up and dismantling tools, equipment and materials for practical teaching sessions and demonstrations.
• Maintaining, servicing and repairing workshop machinery and equipment.
• Assisting lecturing staff during practical workshops and assessments.
• Upholding health and safety standards across all training areas.
• Managing workshop stock and making sure resources are ready when they're needed.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in a recognised construction trade
• Practical skills and sound knowledge of construction tools, equipment and materials
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work independently and to deadlines

Desirable (but not essential):

• Experience of working in a further education or training environment
