Construction Technician
Temporary
Location: the South East
About the Role
As a Construction Technician, you'll support the smooth running of busy construction workshops at a further education provider, making sure practical sessions are well prepared, well resourced and safe.
Working alongside the teaching team, you'll prepare equipment and materials ahead of lessons, keep machinery in good working order and assist staff during practical sessions so learners can focus on developing their trade skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, setting up and dismantling tools, equipment and materials for practical teaching sessions and demonstrations.
- Maintaining, servicing and repairing workshop machinery and equipment.
- Assisting lecturing staff during practical workshops and assessments.
- Upholding health and safety standards across all training areas.
- Managing workshop stock and inventory so resources are ready when needed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant vocational qualification in a recognised construction trade
- Practical skills and sound knowledge of construction tools, equipment and materials
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative and to deadlines
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous technical experience within a further education or training environment
