Construction Technician

Location: Cambridgeshire

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum + benefits

Hours: Full-time, permanent

The Role We are seeking a self-motivated and practical Construction Technician to support operations within our busy construction workshops. Working alongside the teaching team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring practical classes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up, and dismantle tools, equipment, and materials for practical teaching sessions and demonstrations.
  • Maintain, service, and repair workshop machinery and equipment to a high standard.
  • Assist lecturing staff during practical student workshops and assessments.
  • Oversee and maintain rigorous Health & Safety standards within all training areas.
  • Manage workshop inventory and ensure resources are ready when needed.

Requirements

  • Hold relevant qualifications in a recognized construction trade.
  • Demonstrable practical skills and extensive knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience within a further education or training environment is desirable, but full training will be provided.
