Computing Lecturer

Temporary

Location: the West Midlands

Start date: 15 October 2026

Are you an experienced computing professional looking to pass your technical knowledge on to the next generation?

About the Role

A further education provider in the West Midlands is looking for a Computing Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll plan and deliver practical and theory sessions to learners, helping them build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to progress within the digital and technology sector.

Alongside teaching, you'll assess learners' work, track their progress and make sure the classroom remains a safe, well-organised environment in which to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, delivering and assessing computing sessions to learners.
  • Preparing teaching, learning and assessment materials.
  • Monitoring and tracking learner progress, attendance and achievement.
  • Supporting learners to develop their technical skills and employability prospects.
  • Keeping your industry knowledge current and embedding it into your teaching.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • A Level 3 computing qualification, or equivalent
  • Industry experience within computing or a related technical discipline
  • Confident communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
  • Experience of teaching or assessing in a further education setting
  • Experience delivering specialist subjects such as programming, networking, web development or cyber security

If you're ready to put your computing expertise to work in the classroom, we'd love to hear from you.
