Computing Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North East
Start date: 29 September 2026
Are you an experienced computing or digital professional looking to inspire the next generation of technical talent?
About the Role
As a Computing Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging lessons across a range of computing and digital programmes, helping learners build the technical knowledge and confidence they need to progress into further study or employment. Working with a further education provider in the North East, you'll play a key part in shaping a curriculum that reflects current industry practice.
You'll plan and deliver sessions that combine theory with practical application, assess learner progress and provide the support each student needs to achieve.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering lessons across computing and digital programmes.
- Designing schemes of work and learning activities that promote achievement and progression.
- Assessing learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records of attendance and achievement.
- Supporting learners academically and pastorally throughout their studies.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant computing or digital discipline
- Strong subject knowledge across areas such as programming, networking, web development or cyber security
- A recognised teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous industry experience within the digital or technology sector
- Experience delivering programmes across a range of qualification levels
- Knowledge of emerging technologies such as cloud services, software development or game design
