Are you an experienced catering professional looking to inspire the next generation of chefs?

About the Role

As a Catering Lecturer with a training provider, you'll plan and deliver engaging catering and professional cookery sessions, helping learners build the practical skills, industry knowledge and confidence they need to progress.

You'll teach both theory and practical kitchen sessions, adapting your approach to suit a range of abilities and learning styles. Alongside delivery, you'll assess learners' work, give constructive feedback and track progress towards qualifications.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated catering and food preparation lessons.
• Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment activities.
• Delivering practical kitchen sessions safely and to industry standards.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in training kitchens.
• Assessing, reviewing and tracking learner progress and achievement.
• Preparing learners for assessment in line with awarding body requirements.
• Supporting learners to develop the employability skills they need to progress into further study, training or employment.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A relevant catering, professional cookery or hospitality qualification, or substantial industry background
• Strong practical knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations and food safety
• The ability to support learners with varied needs in a vocational setting

Desirable (but not essential):

• A teaching or assessing qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
• Previous experience of teaching or training in a further education or workplace setting
