Automotive Technician
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
Start date: 16 November 2026
Are you an experienced motor vehicle professional looking to bring your trade skills into further education?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South West, supporting the delivery of practical automotive training. Working alongside the teaching team, you'll make sure workshop sessions run smoothly, safely and efficiently.
You'll prepare equipment and resources, maintain the workshop and support learners as they develop their practical skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, setting up and dismantling tools, equipment and materials for practical sessions.
- Maintaining, servicing and repairing workshop machinery and equipment.
- Assisting lecturing staff during practical sessions and assessments.
- Maintaining health and safety standards across all training areas.
- Managing workshop stock and making sure resources are ready when needed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A relevant motor vehicle qualification
- Practical skills and strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and to deadlines
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of working in a further education or training environment
