Are you an experienced catering professional looking to inspire the next generation of chefs and hospitality staff?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North East, delivering practical and theory-based teaching across catering, professional cookery and hospitality programmes. Working alongside a team of industry-experienced colleagues, you'll help learners build the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to progress into employment or further study.
If you have the trade behind you but no classroom experience, that isn't a barrier — support is available to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across catering, food preparation and service programmes.
- Planning, preparing and assessing learning activities to support learner achievement and progression.
- Supporting learners to develop practical culinary skills, kitchen operations knowledge and workplace readiness.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in practical training kitchens.
- Contributing to curriculum development so that content reflects current industry practice.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Catering, Professional Cookery, Hospitality or a related subject
- Substantial industry experience in catering, kitchen operations or food service
- Strong practical knowledge of food preparation, service delivery and food safety
- Ability to support learners with varied educational needs in a vocational setting
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of delivering vocational training
Bring your kitchen experience to the classroom
If you're ready to pass on your trade to learners starting out in the industry, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today.
