Catering Assistant
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 29 September 2026
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider, working as part of the catering team to help prepare and serve food and keep the kitchen and service areas running smoothly throughout the day.
It's a hands-on role in a busy environment, where you'll work alongside colleagues to deliver a good standard of food and service to students and staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of food and drinks.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, health and safety in all areas.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, work surfaces, service areas and dining spaces.
- Supporting with deliveries, stock rotation and storage.
- Providing friendly, efficient service to students, staff and visitors.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A willingness to work as part of a busy catering team
- An understanding of food hygiene and health and safety standards
- A reliable, flexible approach and good attention to detail
Desirable (but not essential):
- A Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene qualification
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering or hospitality setting
