Caretaker
Temporary | Contract
About the Role
A further education provider is looking for a Caretaker to join their site team. You'll help keep the site safe, clean and well maintained for learners, staff and visitors, carrying out day-to-day caretaking duties and responding to issues as they arise.
It's a practical, varied role where you'll be a visible and trusted presence around the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine caretaking, minor repairs and general maintenance across the site.
- Opening up and securing buildings, and supporting the safety and security of the premises.
- Setting up rooms and equipment for lessons, meetings and events.
- Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors where required.
- Supporting health and safety checks and keeping communal areas clean and tidy.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a caretaking, facilities or general maintenance role
- Practical skills across basic repairs and site maintenance
- A reliable, flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Awareness of health and safety in a busy working environment
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of working in an education or other public-facing setting
- A relevant health and safety or maintenance qualification
