Caretaker
Temporary | Contract
Start date: 6 October 2026
About the Role
An education provider is seeking a Caretaker to help keep their site safe, secure and well presented for learners, staff and visitors. You'll be a visible and practical presence around the buildings and grounds, dealing with day-to-day maintenance and responding to issues as they arise.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the site, taking pride in an environment where learning can happen without interruption.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening and securing buildings, and carrying out routine checks of the site.
- Undertaking general maintenance, minor repairs and basic porterage tasks.
- Keeping internal and external areas clean, tidy and free from hazards.
- Reporting faults, defects and any health and safety concerns promptly.
- Assisting with room set-ups, deliveries and the movement of furniture and equipment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous caretaking, site maintenance or facilities experience
- Practical DIY and general maintenance skills
- A reliable, flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative
- An awareness of health and safety in a working environment
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of working on an education site
- A relevant health and safety or maintenance qualification
