Caretaker
Temporary
Location: London
About the Role
A further education provider in London is looking for a Caretaker to join their site team, with an anticipated start date of September 2026.
You'll help keep the site safe, clean and well maintained for learners, staff and visitors, carrying out day-to-day caretaking duties and responding to issues as they arise. It's a practical, varied role where you'll be a visible and trusted presence around the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out routine caretaking, minor repairs and general maintenance across the site.
- Opening up and securing buildings, and supporting the safety and security of the premises.
- Setting up rooms and equipment for lessons, meetings and events.
- Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors where required.
- Supporting health and safety checks and keeping communal areas clean and tidy.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience in a caretaking, facilities or general maintenance role
- Practical skills across basic repairs and site maintenance
- A reliable, flexible approach and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Awareness of health and safety in a busy working environment
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of working on an education site
- A relevant health and safety or maintenance qualification
