Careers and Employability Officer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Start date: 5 October 2026
Are you passionate about helping learners take their next step into work, training or higher education?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West, supporting learners to make informed decisions about their careers and to build the skills and confidence employers are looking for.
Working with learners one to one and in groups, you'll provide impartial guidance, help with applications and interviews, and build links with employers and training providers to open up opportunities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering one-to-one and group careers guidance to learners.
- Supporting learners with CVs, applications, interview preparation and next-step planning.
- Developing relationships with employers, training providers and universities to create opportunities for learners.
- Organising careers events, employer visits and employability activities.
- Keeping accurate records of guidance given and learner destinations.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience of providing careers, employability or information, advice and guidance support
- The ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their next step
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A careers guidance qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Experience of working in a further education setting
- Established links with employers or training providers
