Are you an experienced CAD professional looking to pass your technical skills on to the next generation of engineers?
About the Role
A further education provider in the North West is looking for a CAD Engineering Lecturer to deliver teaching, training and assessment across engineering drawing and computer-aided design programmes.
You'll plan and deliver sessions that combine theory with hands-on work at the screen and the drawing board, teaching learners to produce and interpret technical drawings to industry standards. You'll work with learners of varying ability, adapting your delivery so everyone can progress, and you'll track that progress so no one falls behind.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in engineering drawing and CAD.
- Teaching learners to produce and interpret technical engineering drawings to industry standards.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Assessing learner progress and giving timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintaining accurate learner records in line with awarding body requirements.
- Embedding current industry practice, software and standards into your teaching.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline
- Qualifications and/or substantial industry experience in CAD
- Experience of producing and interpreting engineering drawings in an engineering environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education
A teaching qualification isn't essential. If you're coming straight from industry, you'll be supported to gain one.
Shape the Next Generation of Engineers
If you're ready to turn your CAD expertise into a teaching career, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Support to gain teaching qualification if coming from industry
