Business Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the East Midlands
Start date: 24 September 2026

About the Role
You'll join a further education provider as a Business Lecturer, delivering high-quality teaching and assessment to learners working towards their business qualifications. You'll draw on your own knowledge of the sector to help them build the skills, confidence and professional standards employers expect.
You'll plan and prepare your own learning activities, track learner progress and keep your teaching current and relevant to industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, delivering and assessing engaging business courses.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
- Supporting, motivating and tracking the progress of your learners.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Supporting learners to develop their employability skills and progress onto their next step.
- Taking part in tutorials, assessments and learner reviews.
- Keeping your subject knowledge current and embedding it into your teaching.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in business
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in your subject area
- Occupational competence and relevant industry experience
- A genuine interest in teaching and passing on your knowledge
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience teaching or assessing in further education
