Brickwork Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Location: the South West

Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?

About the Role

A further education provider in the South West is looking for a Brickwork Lecturer to deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom theory to learners working towards their qualifications in the trade.

You'll combine hands-on demonstration with the technical knowledge learners need, helping them build the skills, confidence and professional behaviours that employers expect.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory lessons in Brickwork.
  • Assessing learners' work and providing clear, constructive feedback on their progress.
  • Planning lessons, schemes of work and learning resources.
  • Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop that reflects industry standards.
  • Supporting learners through tutorials, reviews and progression planning.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Brickwork
  • A strong trade background in bricklaying and masonry
  • Good communication and workshop management skills
  • Sound understanding of current industry standards and safe working practices

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching or assessing qualification
  • Previous experience of teaching, assessing or mentoring learners
