Brickwork Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the South East
Start date: 7 September 2026
Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the South East, delivering brickwork training to learners working towards industry-recognised qualifications. You'll combine practical workshop sessions with classroom theory, helping learners build the skills, knowledge and working habits the construction industry expects.
Teaching experience is not essential. If you're coming straight from the trade, support is available to help you make the move, including training, mentoring and ongoing professional development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory lessons.
- Teaching across brickwork programmes and supporting learners through their qualifications.
- Assessing learner progress and giving constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised workshop that reflects industry standards.
- Promoting professionalism, employability skills and safe working practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 qualification (or higher) in brickwork, or equivalent trade experience
- A strong industry background in bricklaying and masonry
- Good communication and workshop management skills
- An understanding of current industry standards and safe working practices
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching or assessing qualification
- Experience of mentoring apprentices or trainees
If you're ready to bring your trade into the classroom and workshop, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today with your CV, or get in touch for a confidential discussion about the role.
What's on Offer
