Brick Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Start: October 2026
Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider delivering practical workshop sessions and classroom theory across brickwork programmes. Working with learners of varying ages and abilities, you'll help them build the technical skills, industry knowledge and professional behaviours they need to succeed on site.
You'll be supported whether you come from a teaching background or straight from the trade.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging practical workshop and theory sessions across brickwork programmes.
- Planning lessons, schemes of work and learning resources.
- Assessing learners' work and providing constructive feedback to support progression.
- Tracking learner progress through tutorials and reviews.
- Maintaining a safe, organised workshop that reflects industry standards.
- Promoting employability skills, professionalism and safe working practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 vocational qualification in bricklaying or brickwork
- Substantial hands-on industry experience in bricklaying or masonry
- Good communication and workshop management skills
- A genuine interest in developing learners
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification or previous experience of teaching in further education
- Assessing or internal quality assurance experience
