Job Description
Brick Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the North West
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass on your trade skills to the next generation?
About the Role
As a Brick Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging practical and theory-based teaching that helps learners build the bricklaying skills and underpinning knowledge they need to progress into the construction industry.
Working with a further education provider in the North West, you'll plan and prepare lessons that combine hands-on workshop practice with classroom theory, assess learner progress and adapt your approach to suit learners at different levels and stages of their training.
If you come from industry rather than a teaching background, that's welcome here. You'll be supported to develop your classroom practice through mentoring and ongoing professional development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons in bricklaying.
- Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Adapting your teaching to meet the needs of learners at different levels.
- Maintaining a safe, professional and industry-standard workshop environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification in bricklaying or a closely related discipline
- Substantial hands-on industry experience in bricklaying
- Strong communication and workshop management skills
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification or previous experience of teaching in further education
If you're ready to use your trade experience to shape the bricklayers of the future, we'd love to hear from you.
What's on Offer
- Mentoring support
- Ongoing professional development
