Job Description

Brick Lecturer

Temporary | Contract

Start date: September 2026

Are you an experienced bricklayer looking to pass your trade on to the next generation?

About the Role

As a Brick Lecturer, you'll deliver practical workshop sessions and classroom-based theory across Brickwork programmes, helping learners build the technical knowledge, hands-on skills and professional behaviours they need to progress into employment or an apprenticeship.

Working with an education provider, you'll plan industry-relevant lessons, assess learner progress and maintain a safe, well-organised workshop that reflects current site standards.

If you're new to teaching, that's not a barrier — your trade experience is what matters most, and you'll be supported to gain a recognised teaching qualification while you work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering practical workshop and classroom-based teaching across Brickwork programmes.
  • Planning lessons, schemes of work and industry-relevant learning resources.
  • Assessing learner progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and supporting high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Maintaining a safe workshop environment and promoting health and safety best practice.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Level 3 vocational qualification in Brickwork, or equivalent
  • Substantial hands-on industry experience in bricklaying
  • Strong communication and workshop management skills

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A teaching qualification or previous teaching experience
  • Experience of assessing learners against vocational standards
