Biology Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the South East
Start date: September 2026
Are you an experienced biology teacher or lecturer looking for your next opportunity?
About the Role
As a Biology Lecturer, you'll plan and deliver engaging biology lessons for a training provider, helping learners build the subject knowledge and confidence they need to achieve and progress.
You'll adapt your teaching to suit a range of abilities and learning styles, delivering both theory and practical sessions. Alongside delivery, you'll assess work, give constructive feedback and track progress, preparing learners thoroughly for their examinations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated biology lessons.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment activities.
- Delivering both theory and practical sessions safely and effectively.
- Assessing, reviewing and tracking learner progress and achievement.
- Preparing learners for external examinations in line with awarding body requirements.
- Maintaining accurate course and learner records.
- Supporting learners to progress into further education, employment or training.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in biology or a related science discipline
- Experience of teaching or assessing learners
- Confidence delivering both theory and practical lessons
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS or PGCE
- Experience of teaching GCSE, A Level or BTEC science
- Experience of working with learners with a wide range of abilities and additional needs
