Job Title: Art Tutor

Location: HMP Littlehey (Perry, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire)

Salary: From £30,000 per annum

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

What You Will Be Doing

• Creative Art Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality art classes and creative workshops using a variety of mediums and techniques to inspire learners of all ability levels.

• Individual Training Plans: Work with individual learning plans (ILPs) to guide learners through their artistic development, offering regular advice, encouragement, and constructive feedback.

• Flexible Departmental Cover: Provide reliable session cover across small learner groups, using creative, flexible delivery methods to maintain engagement and continuity in education.

• Confidence & Behaviour Building: Foster a calm, supportive, and inclusive studio environment that promotes therapeutic creative expression, problem-solving skills, self-discipline, and positive workplace behaviours.

• Exhibitions & Progression: Encourage learners to work toward formal goals, internal exhibitions (e.g., Koestler Arts), and personal aspirations to support their broader rehabilitation journey.

What We Are Looking For

• Subject Expertise: An Art qualification (A Level Art or above preferred) alongside strong practical knowledge and creative experience in your field.

• Training & Teaching Background: Proven experience delivering creative workshops, training sessions, or art classes, with the ability to adapt your teaching style for diverse learners.

• Teaching Credentials: A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable. No teaching qualification? No problem! Full support and funding will be provided to help you achieve the required teaching and assessing qualifications during your probationary period.

• Core Attributes: A highly creative, flexible approach to learner engagement, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to supporting second chances through education.
