Applied Science Lecturer
Temporary
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber
Are you a science professional or experienced teacher looking to inspire the next generation of scientists?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider to deliver engaging Applied Science teaching to learners working towards their qualifications and progression into higher education or employment.
You'll plan and deliver both theory and practical sessions, supporting learners to build the knowledge, laboratory skills and confidence the sector expects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality teaching across Applied Science programmes.
- Preparing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessment schedules that motivate learners to achieve.
- Carrying out practical experiments in line with the specification to support learners towards their qualification.
- Monitoring learner progress, providing timely feedback and putting interventions in place where needed.
- Contributing to curriculum development and maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 qualification or higher in a science-related subject
- Strong subject knowledge across biology, chemistry and physics
- Ability to deliver engaging practical and theory sessions
Desirable (but not essential):
- A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one
- Previous experience of teaching or assessing in further education
