Criminology Lecturer
Temporary | Contract
Location: the West Midlands
Are you a criminology specialist who enjoys helping learners make sense of crime, justice and the systems that shape both?
About the role
Our client, a further education provider in the West Midlands, is looking for a Criminology Lecturer to deliver Level 3 criminology to learners within their curriculum team.
You'll plan and deliver engaging sessions that bring the subject to life, assess learners' work and track their progress towards achieving their qualifications. You'll work alongside curriculum colleagues to maintain high teaching standards and to support learners through their programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering criminology sessions to learners studying at Level 3.
- Planning and preparing lessons that meet learners' needs and course requirements.
- Assessing learners' work, giving clear feedback and monitoring progress towards qualifications.
- Keeping accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
- Contributing to curriculum development alongside colleagues.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- A degree or relevant professional qualification in criminology or a related subject
- Experience of delivering Level 3 programmes
- A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of internal verification or moderation
- Experience of acting as a personal tutor
