About the Role

A further education provider in the North West is looking for a Health and Social Care Lecturer to join its teaching team. You'll deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across health and social care programmes, bringing your sector experience into the classroom to prepare learners for careers in the field.

You'll work with diverse groups of learners, supporting them to achieve their qualifications and build the practical skills and confidence the sector demands.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering lessons, schemes of work and assessment schedules across health and social care qualifications.
• Creating a safe, inclusive learning environment where learners are stretched and challenged.
• Assessing learners' work, marking to awarding body standards and giving constructive feedback on progress.
• Tracking achievement and maintaining accurate learner records.
• Supporting learners to overcome individual barriers to learning, both inside and outside the classroom.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• A relevant qualification in health and social care
• Occupational experience gained within the health or social care sector
• The ability to engage and motivate learners of differing abilities
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable (but not essential):

• A recognised teaching qualification
• Previous experience of teaching, training or assessing in a further education setting

If you don't yet hold a teaching qualification, that needn't hold you back — the provider supports industry professionals moving into education with teacher training, mentoring and ongoing development.
