AM2 Assessor
Temporary | Contract
Location: the North West
Start date: 12 October 2026
Are you a qualified electrician looking to move into assessment and play a part in how the next generation of electricians qualify?
About the Role
You'll join a further education provider in the North West as an AM2 Assessor, conducting AM2 end-point assessments for apprentices completing their electrotechnical qualifications.
You'll bring your trade experience to the assessment centre, making sure every assessment is delivered consistently, fairly and to the required standard, and that candidates are properly briefed and supported throughout.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting AM2 assessments in line with awarding body requirements and current industry standards.
- Preparing and setting up assessment bays, equipment and materials ahead of each assessment.
- Briefing candidates and supervising them throughout the assessment period.
- Marking and recording outcomes accurately, and maintaining assessment documentation.
- Maintaining a safe, well-organised assessment environment that reflects industry practice.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A Level 3 (or higher) qualification in electrical installation
- Substantial practical experience in the electrical industry
- Sound knowledge of current wiring regulations and safe working practices
- A fair, consistent and methodical approach to assessing candidates
Desirable (but not essential):
- An assessor qualification, such as A1, TAQA or CAVA
- Previous experience of delivering AM2 or other end-point assessments
- Experience of working with apprentices in a training or assessment setting
