A Level English Teacher
Temporary | Contract
Location: the South West
About the Role
We're recruiting an A Level English Teacher to join a further education provider in the South West. You'll plan and deliver engaging A Level English lessons, supporting learners to achieve strong academic outcomes and progress to university, apprenticeships or employment.
You'll work alongside a supportive teaching team, bringing your subject knowledge and enthusiasm into the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality A Level English lessons.
- Supporting learners of differing abilities to reach their potential.
- Assessing work, monitoring progress and giving clear, constructive feedback.
- Providing intervention where learners need additional support.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong English subject knowledge, typically supported by a degree in a relevant subject
- A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, QTLS, PGCE, Cert Ed or DET
- Experience of teaching English at A Level
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- An Enhanced DBS check, or a willingness to obtain one
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience of teaching within further education
