About the role

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant, you'll work alongside teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access their learning and thrive. Working with an education provider in Norfolk, you'll provide tailored support that meets the individual needs of the young people in your care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils individually and in small groups to help them access the curriculum.
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver planned learning activities and adapt them to individual needs.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils to develop confidence and independence.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress and feeding back to the teaching team.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Experience of supporting children or young people in an educational or care setting
  • A patient, calm and encouraging approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • A genuine commitment to helping young people succeed

Desirable (but not essential):

  • A relevant teaching assistant or support qualification
  • Experience of supporting pupils with additional or specialist needs
  • An understanding of strategies that promote engagement and positive behaviour

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is dedicated to making a real difference to young people's education
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
  • Adapts well to a varied and hands-on role
  • Communicates clearly and works patiently with pupils of all abilities

If you're ready to help young people build their confidence and thrive in their learning, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and take the next step in your support career.
