Sport Lecturer
Temporary
Location: the East of England
Are you a sport professional or coach who enjoys helping learners build the skills and confidence to take their interest further?
About the Role
As a Sport Lecturer with a further education provider, you'll plan and deliver engaging theory and practical sessions across sport programmes, helping learners develop the knowledge, practical ability and employability skills they need to progress into employment or further study.
You'll teach across a range of levels and abilities, adapting your approach so every learner can succeed, and you'll monitor progress closely so learners get the feedback and encouragement that keeps them on track.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering sport lessons that are engaging and well structured.
- Preparing schemes of work, resources and assessments that support progression and achievement.
- Teaching and assessing learners across a range of levels.
- Providing timely, constructive feedback that helps learners improve.
- Tracking learner progress and supporting those at risk of falling behind.
- Maintaining accurate course and learner records.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong subject knowledge in sport, gained through study or professional experience
- Confidence teaching or coaching learners of differing levels and abilities
- Good organisational skills and accurate record keeping
Desirable (but not essential):
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Previous experience teaching in a further education setting
- Experience of assessing learners' practical and written work
